For us fisherman, there isn't anything quite like the thrill of the catch and the glory of the open sea. And whilst the gear of today's fisherman is constantly evolving and changing, the one thing we can't afford to be without is a high quality pair of fishing sunglasses. Intense glare and prolonged exposure to the sun can be very damaging to our eyes, so its crucial we protect them with polarized lenses to reduce glare.
A good pair of fishing sunglasses doesn't have to be expensive. All of the styles we carry will reduce glare, easy fatigue and enhance your vision through the water.
FISHING SUNGLASSES - THINGS TO CONSIDER
As much as we love the sun, the glare it produces reduces our ability to see underwater and ultimately see fish! Glare will also quickly ruin your day as it strains your eyes and causes fatigue.
Its also important to understand what effect different lens colors have and how they can benefit your fishing experience. Use the list below as a guide.
OPEN WATER FISHING
Grey, or Smoke lenses offer very little distortion as they transmit all colors of the spectrum. Choose these for bright sunny days and open water fishing.
SIGHT FISHING
By absorbing blue light and boosting contrast, copper lenses are the first choice for sight fishing. The high contrast of copper lenses also help sooth the eyes.
SHALLOW WATER & FLATS FISHING
Brown lenses offer exceptional contrast and color perception and are considered by many the best all round tint. Brown is also great for shallow water and flats fishing in medium to bright light.
